Dairing Events is the Peanut Butter to my Jelly//jacksonville wedding planner

Hello My Beauties,

As promised I am giving you all the inside scoop to my wedding. That means I must start with the very first person that I feel you should start with too. YOUR WEDDING PLANNER!!!!!! I must admit, I used to think I would have no need for a wedding planner. I like planning and organizing parties myself, and thought this would be something fun to do. However, being that I work weddings nearly every weekend, I can definitely tell a HUGE difference in brides that either use a wedding planner, only a day of coordinator or try to do it themselves. Let’s just say, My decision became clear that I needed a wedding planner. But not just any wedding planner, I wanted the best of the best. I wanted someone who I knew I could trust to make our wedding vision come true! So I decided there was no better choice for us than Dairing Events!!!

image Adair happens to be one of my hair clients. When she sat down in my chair to have her hair done, I was busy explaining my dream wedding. She took mental note of every detail. By the time she left she handed me two sheets of paper with a diagram of my reception, listed every question I needed to ask my caterer (which I never would’ve thought to ask), gave me timelines for things that I needed to have and most importantly… gave me realistic expectations of what my budget could actually afford. She also gave me suggestions on areas where I could save money. And THAT my friends is why you need a planner. They know all these things!!!! She is so full of insight and her keen eye is always set on perfection. I’m not making it easy on her either. I changed the date numerous times and then decided to plan a wedding in three months.

The main reason I chose Dairing Events to plan my wedding is because she genuinely cares about YOUR day. Her only agenda is giving you the most magical day of your life! Adair Currie is one of the most lovable ladies that I have ever met. She carries her sparkle everywhere she goes and her energy is contagious. She is a problem solver and I appreciate that.

adair2Adair created her own Bridal Academy that I was lucky enough to attend, This allowed me to hear from every vendor needed for your big day. It was super insightful and gave me tons of ideas about what I really wanted for our big day!

Now you can see why this day would not be possible without her!!!!!

Please go check out her website for more details!!!

It’s My turn to be Bride and have my very own Once Upon A Wedding!!!//Jacksonville weddings

She said YES!!!

I SAID YES!!!!  It is finally my turn to have my very own Happily Ever After!

After many years of giving my brides their fairy tale wedding hair, I get to plan every intricate hair detail of my own. Being in the wedding industry has its perks. After all, I get to work along side, what I consider, the best in the business!!!!! Through the next few months, I will be telling you which vendors I chose and why they are a necessity to have on your BIG DAY!  But first let me tell you how he proposed…

Jason and I love going downtown every Wednesday where we serve the homeless at Cup of Love Ministry. This is a ministry started by Jason after hearing God tell him that he would “turn a cup of coffee into an ocean of love”…and that he did!!!! It was June 11th and I was so excited about this particular week because I just knew that God was going to move in a big way. It was the first week that school was out and so not only my children but others would be able to attend. Nothing warms my heart more than being able to watch the next generation selflessly give to others, especially the less fortunate! There were also many of my friends that had taken the day off from work and I was excited that they would be able to experience some of the things that had changed my life. Oh and guess what?? You can join us too!!!! We are out there EVERY Wednesday at 8am. We set up shop behind Trinity Rescue Mission at the corner of Union and Broad St.

10464011_10204091044942093_8141454741784808894_nOk back to my story…The morning got underway and I started setting things up to begin serving. There were lots of volunteers that day to give tasks to so I was busy running around doing all the things I do, not realizing how many people had started to gather around. Jason comes up to me and asks me to come over to where he was and so I did……… BAM!!!! He drops down on one knee and asks me to be his wife!!!!! He was holding one of our coffee cups and inside the cup was my ring!!! How adorable, right?

10472737_931869678921_6043569965726117345_nI turn around to find all of my closest family and friends standing there who had been tucked away for the morning. God sure did turn a cup of coffee into an ocean of love for us!!! Nothing in the whole entire world would make me happier than being his bride! He is such an amazing man and I am excited to see what an adventure our journey will entail!!!

Follow along as I share with you every detail of my wedding including my glorious vendor list!

About time you post something.. Love you

From My Heart to Yours…

Hello my beauties,

Just finishing out this grateful season as the clock winds down to the end of a very productive year, I look back at the trail of smiles that have lined my path! With over 100 happy brides and countless bridesmaids, I am reminded by each and every one how truly blessed I am. I have had the opportunity to share in so many “once upon a time” experiences this year and my heart overflows with gratitude! It is only by the faith placed in me to create memorable styles on beautiful brides that will live beyond the moment in their photo albums, and on desks and mantles for a long time to come. I am honored to have been a part of each special day!

My success has not been a solo performance. Incredible vendors have played a huge role in helping me reach my goals and have moved me further along than I could have ever imagined on my own. I want to thank them all for their trust in me as a professional and for the camaraderie we share. They have not only given me great opportunities, but have made it fun along the way. Thank you;Adair Currie, Jill Stonier, Jacob Towe, Chloe Austin, Carrie Wilson, Lucia Palenik,Christina Kopecki, Liz Golden, Scarlett and Stephen Knuth, Jennifer Becker, Emily Burton, Dana Thompson, Amber Veatch and countless others. Not to mention the website that I am known for created by Nashville Website Designers Remix Design & Media!!!

Being productive sometimes means taking time away from those you love. I owe much appreciation to my family and friends for all the times I have had to put them on the sideline in order to make my exclusive clients feel that they are getting the undivided attention they deserve. From my family, to my babysitters and my friends, I could not have accomplished my goals without their unconditional love and support. From the bottom of my heart I say a huge “Thank you”.

As I began building my team this year I am enthusiastic to see what next year brings. If you want to stay current with the latest styles, hair fashions and bridal trends, stick with me. It may be another wild ride, but it will be worth it! This coming year is already filled with 46 excited brides, waiting to see their Once Upon a Dream come true! I can’t wait to share in what they may consider one of the most memorable days in their lives. I look forward to telling you all about them very soon!

XOXO, Mandi

I’m so proud of you girl! I still remember the days when this was all a dream of yours and now God has lead you to turn it into a beautiful reality!!

Rejuvenating Your Locks

Is your hair dry or brittle? Has it lost its shine? The Sun is brutal during the summer, mixed with chlorine and salt water, that is a recipe for damage and breakage in our hair. The sun and its UV Rays cause the protein bonds in our hair shaft to break down, causing it to loose pigment and have our color to fade. It also causes our hair to look dull and feel dry! SO how can we reverse the negative effects??? Here is a segment I recently did to show you just that!

I didnt really have much time to discuss all the benefits of Coconut Oil but yo can apply it to the hair just like a mask. You can also melt it down and use as a hot oil treatment. I even ue it as lotion, shaving cream and eye make up remover, LOL!!! I love it. ome other products you may find in your kitchen are Eggs, Vinegar, Yogurt and Sour cream. Here are a few recipes for those ingredients!

EGGS: The [raw] egg is really the best of all worlds. The yolk, rich in fats and proteins, is naturally moisturizing, while the white, which contains bacteria-eating enzymes, removes unwanted oils, she explains. To Use: For normal hair, use the entire egg to condition hair; use egg whites only to treat oily hair; use egg yolks only to moisturize dry, brittle hair, Cox says. Use 1/2 cup of whichever egg mixture is appropriate for you and apply to clean, damp hair. If there isn’t enough egg to coat scalp and hair, use more as needed. Leave on for 20 minutes, rinse with cool water (to prevent egg from “cooking”) and shampoo hair. Whole egg and yolks-only treatments can be applied once a month; whites-only treatment can be applied every two weeks.

YOGURT/SOUR CREAM:Styling products (as well as air pollution) can leave a film that both saps moisture and dulls shine—but dairy products like sour cream and plain yogurt can help reverse this damage. Lactic acid gently strips away dirt while the milk fat moisturizes. To Use: Massage 1/2 cup sour cream or plain yogurt into damp hair and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with warm water, followed by cool water, then shampoo hair as you normally would. Treatment can be applied every other week.

VINEGAR: Apple cider vinegar removes clumpy residue and gunk in hair from product buildup. It also works as a natural detangler. When used regularly in your natural hair care routine, apple cider vinegar can revitalize your hair, leaving it soft and smooth. The vinegar also works by closing the cuticle of the hair, which makes light reflect off of it. In other words, it makes your hair super shiny! To use: Mix 1 part apple cider vinegar and 1 part water. After shampooing, pour the mixture into your hair. If you have a spray bottle, that works even better. That way you can spritz your hair with the mixture and massage it into your scalp. Let the apple cider vinegar concoction sit for a few minutes before rinsing fully with water. No need to use conditioner! The apple cider vinegar will leave hair feeling smooth and soft.

When you get out of the shower before you do ANYTHING make sure you put in some type of oil to coat the hair and protect it from the harsh effects of brushing, blow drying or thermal heat damage! Hair is most brittle when it is wet so be very gentle!!!!!

XOXO, Mandi
